As the one the only eco-friendly refill stores in Historic Old Sacramento, we’re proud to serve our community with purpose and passion. Our journey began with a deeply personal mission, rooted in the life of our founder, Hope Suson.

As a single mother raising three daughters, Hope sought meaningful ways to live more sustainably—without compromising on affordability, efficiency, or style. Her desire to create a healthier, more conscious home for her family became the spark that started Ecojoyous. With years of experience as an educator, Hope also felt a strong calling to share what she learned with others, helping individuals and families discover practical, eco-friendly alternatives that are good for both people and the planet.

At Ecojoyous, we’ve grown from that spark into a community hub for mindful living. Every product on our shelves is carefully chosen to align with our values—natural, refillable, low-waste, upcycled, and built to last. Whether it’s a refillable household staple, a handmade artisan good, or a thoughtful gift, we believe sustainability should be beautiful, accessible, and joyful.

We work closely with local makers and ethical brands, ensuring every product has a story worth sharing — whether it’s crafted from upcycled materials, made with natural ingredients, or designed to last a lifetime.

We are beyond excited about our growing refill section which has everything from dish soaps, lotions, sunscreen, and massage oils, and more.

People do not realize that choosing to be more sustainable and bringing your own bottles can be more cost-effective but also healthier for ourselves and our environment. You are empowered to choose your own natural ingredients and support a circular economy which is a "win 🏆 win"

What our customers saying

The space has changed a lot since they first opened, but they continue to make it a welcoming space that carries a lot of useful and eco-friendly items.

The owner is very friendly and they make a lot of product in house, and carry a lot of local products. They also have a lot of fun pop up events where they highlight other businesses.

Some of my favorite items here are their refillable items like soaps and lotions. They also have some very nice bar soaps, and they do some seasonal ones that make great gifts.

You can purchase jars/vessels here, but I recommend bringing your own so it goes with your space and so you know you have the size that you want.

Parking can be tough at times, but if you come during non-touristy times for Old Sac you can easily find a spot. If you do come at a more popular time there is a parking garage not too far away.

Went here after a yoga class on the teachers recommendations. It is a super cute shop with tons of cute items. I enjoyed walking around and smelling all the soaps and looking at all the eco products. There were things I'd never even seen before that were so useful and I was happy that everything seemed planet friendly. The owner was really friendly and gave me a free soap sample. I haven't tried it yet but it's a pretty looking and smells so good. Glad I found this place and will come back for buying gifts.

Natural, eco-friendly sustainable goods [Sacramento CA]

This retail store is housed in one of the historic buildings at the Old Sacramento Waterfront... it is one of the new shops just around the corner from Candy Heaven next to the Tower Bridge parking garage.

We walked inside and was immediately greeted by the owner herself, Hope, very friendly and welcoming. We browsed through the store from front to back. All the merchandise were eco-friendly sustainable goods -- including the soy candles. Many were natural, organic, plastic-free, low-waste alternatives for the home and body. She proudly showed us items she handcrafted herself. The bath bombs and artisan vegan soap bars were so colorful and pretty. I know they look edible but Warning: Do Not Eat! LoL! ジ

I purchased the last bar of the Mint Mojito soap. Can't wait to use. They are weighed individually so pricing varies depending on the size of the bar. They are sold at $1.85 per oz.

A lot of their handmade goods are upcycled -- old bottles, fabrics, materials. Lots of things created by artisans and creators. The shop is also a refillery. The first of its kind in Old Sac.

This is an amazing shop!!! The owner Hope is so sweet and very knowledgeable, she has many varieties of different lotions,hand soaps a lot of eco friendly items ,she offers different types of Teas she has beautiful jars too, handmade products as well there were so many great quality items to look at, I bought some all natural tattoo balm was responsibly priced, the space is beautiful the flow of the space is fabulous lots of natural lighting and great vibes stop by and show Hope some love she is so down to earth love her.

Awesome event that was held on Sunday! Love all the Finally All Natural oil products for face, body and lips! Bought some honey for my allergies and can already feel results. Enjoyed the healthy homemade marshmallows and plan on taking a class at Ecojoyous. Also interested in wood making class and oil painting class from artists that were there. Such a fun event!

Very cute family-operated business! The owners are so kind and friendly.

All of the items are minimal to no waste products. Many of them are eco-friendly and do not contain loads of chemicals.

The smells and the product qualities? Really really good and yet priced so affordably!! The scents weren't nauseating like majority of these types of shops. They were actually so very light but strong enough to make a difference. The lady of the shop walked me around and let me smell like everything and explained what was in some of the stuff.

They were closing but let me stay past so I quickly bought some lotion and will definitely be visiting again to buy some soaps and candles. So far, the lotion has made my hands plushy soft.

I would honestly recommend at least taking a peak inside just to see fit!

The first time I came across Ecojoyous I was walking back from getting candy for my wife at candy heaven . I was running late so I was in a hurry but I had to walk inside because I was buying birthday gifts. The customer service is amazing and for a guy like me that needs to spend some time looking at everything because I don't know what I'm doing in a smell good shop that has items like bath bombs and candles. I explained exactly what I was looking for and I got a ton of different examples of what my wife might like. My wife loved what I got and it brightens up the bathroom for sure. Everything is reasonably priced. I'll be back from time to time and if you are a guy looking for your wife this is the spot.
